After choosing a Marquee tool, a Lasso tool, or the Magic Wand tool, the tool Options panel displays options that are specific to the chosen tool.
Edge options are available for all pixel selection tools:

Hard creates a marquee selection with a defined edge. |

Anti-alias prevents jagged edges in the marquee selection. |
|
Feather lets you feather the edge of the pixels you select. |
Style options are available for the Marquee tools only:

Normal lets you create a marquee in which the height and width are independent. |
|
Fixed Ratio constrains the height and width to defined ratios. |
|
Fixed Size constrains the height and width to a set dimension. |
